Sue Clancy is a freelance professional artist who combines traditional and computer techniques to produce wonderfully imaginative images.
The following are excerpts from an e-mail interview with Sue:
What kind of work / accomplishments have you done in the art world?
I have participated in numerous art shows, which I feel is an accomplishment since the medium that I've chosen to explore hasn't always been widely accepted. I've been investigating how the digital media have affected the fine arts, particularly in regard to photography and painting.
What are your goals with your art?
One of my goals with my work is to increase the awareness of how digital technologies can improve/maintain the quality of photographs/paintings. The computer is a valuable tool to the artist and I want to help the computer to be recognized by the art world!
Where does your interest in Nature / Photography come from?
I am interested in nature / natural photography, particularly people, because nature is always new, innovative, and surprising! I love to work with people, I enjoy talking to them and learning about them and their experiences.
Has anyone been a particular inspiration to you in pursuing art?
I have been inspired by many people, Scott Mutter, Andy Warhol, Georgia O'Keeffe, Frieda Kahlo, and my college photography professor, Andy Stroud.
Did you ever have any formal training in art?
I have a Bachelor Degree in the Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma. Currently I am a freelance professional with a wide range of talents and abilities.
