Fake E-Card Notifications - Phishing/Spam Scam

We have recently been notified that a spammer has been sending fake E-Cards pickup notification e-mails. The card links in these "phishing" emails are to computers and web pages that are not ours.

This hoax attempts to trick spam recipients into downloading a virus or spyware. The sites hosting these malicious programs were probably hacked or infected by a virus themselves. The compromised computers are, in many cases, personal computers that do not have proper firewall/virus protection.

The e-mail addresses used for the spams were probably obtained from virus infected personal computers or spam lists that spammers share and sell.
